End Of Season Review - 2009/10
Daedalus FC's second season in the Solent League was another filled with highs and lows.
A great start to the league season saw Daedalus picking up maximum points from their first three games and winning two out of three Combination Cup games.
Fixture congestion towards the end of the season saw Daedalus struggle to field full teams for the final games and which lead to them failing to take advantage of their games in hand.
A couple of cup runs also compounded Daedalus's fixture congestion. The highlight being Daedalus winning their first ever penalty shoot out against a team which Daedalus seem to be constantly paired against, Foresters Utd.
At the end of season awards, Trevor Lazenbury picked up the club Player of the Year Award for the second year running. Again, Trevor's level of performance never dropped throughout the season earning him the nickname of 'The Machine'.
The Young Player of the Year award was also a repeat of last season, with Ben Gosling scooping the award for the second year running. narrowly beating Matt Ward into second place.
John Mawby won Clubman of the Year award after showing true commitment to the club throughout the season, playing in whatever position asked, even taking over the gloves for the penalty shoot-out against Foresters, promoting himself to instant hero status. Top goalscorer was won by Jase Lowe.
With a few players moving onto pastures new, a few new recruits have been lined up for the club in a season which Daedalus will look to push on with their 2 years experience and look to bring the clubs first competitive trophy.
